I couldn't find a book to read for independent reading last week, so I picked up an old favorite and read it, which struck me to post a recommendation for it on my blog. Well, actually Ms. Barbara suggested I do this. But whatever. The book is The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon. It's my favorite book. The book is about a boy named Christopher. Christopher has Asperger's (a mild form of autism) and Savant Syndrome (people with it have trouble learning in all areas but one, where they excel incredibly.) The plot begins with Christopher finding that his neighbor's dog is dead. He decides to solve the mystery of how it died, and along the way discovers a lot about his dead (or so he thinks) mother. I found this book very entertaining and enjoyed it very much. It would be cool if other people liked it too, so let me know what you think. :)

P.S. Everyone's been asking me what happened to my face, so I thought I would just put this out there. I was riding a horse when this girl cut me off. I tried to stop, but I was going really fast and my horse threw her head up, which hit me in the face and gave me a concussion. Then I fell off. It's better now though.
The book sounds like something you would read. : )
ReplyDeleteP.S.- sorry to hear what happened to you! and I'm glad every things going well.
